Polaroids

For a number of years I shot on a Polaroid SX-70. This was an important phase in my shooting, as I was able to shoot analog without the troubles that come along with developing my own film or paying a lab way too much money to do it. I enjoyed having a known known. I could look at the shot on the fly and move on without all the mystery that came with developing. I had some real composition breakthroughs because I was able to instantly see my results.  That helped re-kindle my love for photography.

Then Polaroid stopped making their film. I was crushed. I still had a few packs left.  Every now and then I would see the film on sale and get what I could. I decided that when I ran out of film, that would be it. I eventually got rid of the camera by donating it to a thrift store. For everyone that has a rad thrift store find story; there has to be a few donation regret stories. I know they brought their film back, but I’ll always have a trust issue with them.
